2 Brothers Brewery

Born from a midnight rescue mission in Times Square, 2 Brothers Brewery is one of Victoria’s founding craft breweries—family-owned, Melbourne-made, and proudly unconventional.
Founded by Andrew and Dave Ong, two brothers with backgrounds in aeronautical engineering and physiotherapy, the brewery began with a bold idea and a truckload of salvaged equipment from the defunct Times Square Brewery. What started as a dream in New York became a reality in Moorabbin’s industrial heart, where the brothers brewed their first beer in 2007.
Today, 2 Brothers Brewery is home to:
- The Beerhall – A vibrant NY inspired space pouring fresh brews straight from tanks named after NYC districts like Soho, Hell’s Kitchen, and Brooklyn.
- The Beergarden – our pooch-friendly beer garden is a laid-back oasis where fresh brews, live tunes, and good vibes flow all weekend long.
- The Taproom Nextdoor – A private events venue for intimate gatherings or larger celebrations with no venue hire fees (up to 80 guests).
- Chef Shaw Kitchen – A fresh pub-style menu crafted by Head Chef Stephen Shaw, blending Modern Australian, French, and Asian fusion cuisine.
Hosting Trivia every Thursday night, live music on some Friday nights (check our calendar for details), and special events like Fathers Day.
Open Thursday to Saturday, 12pm–late, and Sunday, 12pm–6pm, the brewery offers award-winning beers like Taxi (pilsner) and Kung Foo (rice lager), plus seasonal releases.
Whether you’re chasing a pint or planning a party, or just curious about the tanks named after New York boroughs, 2 Brothers Brewery is a local legend with global roots.
