Denise Ball Registered Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor

I am a registered Counsellor and clinical supervisor in Private practice.

My passion for counselling stems from my compassion for people as a whole. Having worked as a primary school counsellor and then private practice for over 15 years, I understand that people’s childhood and life experiences have profound impacts on themselves, their partners, family and other relationships. I provide my clients with a safe space where it’s okay to not be okay. Where they can speak and share openly and honestly in an unbiased, judgement-free and comfortable environment – we take the bumpy ride that is therapy together.

I work with couples, individuals and parents with a focus on emotions and relationships and how they can have an impact on each other . My goal is to help my clients both identify and learn to use their own strengths to heal and grow with the medium of a meaningful connection to support and guide them on their journey.

In addition to individual and couple therapy and working with parents, since 2011 I have co facilitated an emotional intelligent parenting program (“Tuning into kids”) for parents seeking to better understand and manage their child’s behaviours and emotions. This is ran face to face in small groups and I incorporate the most up to date emotional intelligence research into the programs. As a clinical supervisor I love supporting other counsellors in their work and offering guidance in setting up a private practice.

I am a member of the ACA College of Supervisors and abide by their code of ethics. I regularly attend Professional Development and supervision to continue my own growth and learning.

My areas of work include : Relationships Couples work Anxiety and stress Depression/low mood Parenting Disability support Grief and loss Emotional Intelligence Behaviour Therapy
